After nearly two years of constant development, the VisDynamica.com service is finally shaped to a form that should be both usable and useful. Numerous wireframes and prototypes designed by VisDynamica users became the opportunity to improve the general idea of VisDynamica and the way it interacts with Microsoft Visio.
There is a collection of basic VisDynamica special shapes, that can be quickly added to the drawing, instantly bringing in some preconfigured rich interactions and effects. More complex functionalities can be achieved by interactions between those basic shapes. For more advanced users and more specific needs, there are the so-called connection mods, that can extend every other VisDynamica shape up to the point of custom made jQuery events, coded directly from inside Visio.
I believe that together with the recently released Microsoft Visio 2010, which is a very great application itself, VisDynamica creates a really efficient combo solution in the interaction designer’s toolbox.
PS: Oh, and if you are wondering what Albert Einstein has got to do with this all, you can still visit the old website here: http://old.visdynamica.com/. It remains available for archivisation purposes only, all interactions are disabled.
