At the Polish IA Summit 2011 conference held last week, a collegue from K2 Internet – Paulina Rzymska, presented a very interesting case study, which included a VisDynamica prototype. For Play, a polish mobile telephone operator, they have done a complete redesign of playmobile.pl, the Play’s product website.
Apart from employing an excellent, cooperative methodology in the project, that was so well-received by the conference attendees, they have also created a prototype that exceeded the boundaries of hi-fidelity in previous VisDynamica projects that I know of.
A feature so significantly different was a working shopping cart in the e-commerce section, that allowed the user-testing participants to complete a full order, just like they would do it on the final website. To complete an order, one had to choose a device, a payment plan, preferred accessories and a special offer. But it was possible to start at any point and continue in any sequence. Everything was accurately registered by a custom script based on cookies (see the Custom Script and Custom Event special Visio shapes), and displayed on the checkout!
There is a Slideshare case-study presentation, in Polish, but with many interesting illustrations:
(available as a PDF file here)
There are also interesting references to the case-study and the event as a whole, by Martin Belam and Peter Boersma (both in English).
